Prize Frenzy™!
It's a shortish Prize Frenzy™ this week - a Prize Frenzling™, if you will - since Frenzor™ is busily wrapping up gifts for next week's pre-Xmas Frenzy™: but to dip your trembling hand into the bubbling pool of free stuff, just dial 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 17 Dec (wait for the Triple J news theme: that's when Frenzor™ drops the receiver back on the hook with his enormous, scaly talon) and make your play for your choice of the following:
1. The Falls might be completely sold out, but the organisers see no reason why you can't have a little mini-Falls in the comfort of your own home. To that end they've sent us a pack of CDs from a bunch of Falls acts, including The Vasco Era, Epicure, Xavier Rudd and The Panics, for one lucky winner to snaffle. Aren't they sweethearts?
2. The Donnas' album 'Gold Medal' has piqued Wade Howland's interest; so much so that it's this issue's We Liked It And You Will Too,' and the good folks at Warners have kindly slung us five copies thereof.
3. On the subject of rock, Matt Redmond reckons that the 'Metallica Attack' album is a surprisingly sturdy tribute: check out his review in this issue, then grab yourself a copy thanks to the good folks at Didgeridoo.
4. Kelly Parish has a most pleasant chat with the equally pleasant Holly Throsby, and Spunk and Jo Corbett have kindly slipped us three copies of her debut 'On Night.'
5. Frank Trimboli talks the talk with Wolfmother's Myles Heskett about the band's debut CD-EP (cunningly entitled 'Wolfmother') and their upcoming tour with Regurgitator; and we have three copies of their CD-EP, thanks to Jo Wilson and Modular Recordings.
6. Speaking of the 'Gurge, Quan Yeomans has a nice chinwag with Scott Berry in this issue and we have two double passes to their show at Heaven on Fri 17 Dec, thanks to Scorpion Entertainment.
7. That Jools Holland is an affable chap, as you'll learn when you read Chris Niehus' interview with him in this issue. He's just done a CD with Tom Jones entitled 'Roots Rock'n'Roll' and the good folks at Warners reckon you'd like it. Hence, they've slipped us a few copies for your listening pleasure.
Online Only Frenzy™!
You're pretty intrigued by the sounds of 'Saw,' right? Well, the Frenztron5000™ has snared some passes from Picture This Marketing - all you need to do is be one of the first to email andrew@dbmagazine.com.au and say "you know, I'd really like to see that film."
