Prize Frenzy™!
Frenzor™ (who you know and love as the enormous scaled beast that rules Prize Frenzy™ like a fire-breathing despot) is getting real sick of Father Xmas following him around taking notes all the damn time. Mind you, he could do with a few pointers since Frenzor™ is annually pulling stuff in left, right and centre at least 25 times more often than Santa - and you could be the beneficiary of this glorious generosity by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 3 Dec and politely enquiring after your choice of the following:
1. The Killers are quite possibly the coolest band in the world right now, and they're playing at Thebarton Theatre on Thurs 16 Dec - and they're on our front cover, since guitarist Dave Keuning had such a nice chat with our Eddie Chan. We have double passes to the show up for grabs, thanks to Scorpion Entertainment.
2. Or perhaps you'd rather just kick it Killers-style at home? UMG have anticipated your interest and furnished us with five copies of their 'Hot Fuss' CD.
3. The way Ben Revi tells it, Ed Harcourt's 'Strangers' is one of the best albums you could own. You can find out for yourself: since it's this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' and EMI have kindly slipped us five copies.
4. Admit it: you're mightily intrigued by the prospect of seeing rap poet Sage Francis share a stage with Canadian quirk-pop madmen The Unicorns, right? We have a few double passes to their Jive show on Sun 12 Dec, thanks to Penny Drop.
5. Parkway Drive tell Maddi West all about their love for their label Resist, and the showcase show they're playing with The Hot Lies, Wendy Icon and Stolen Youth at the Enigma Bar on Sun 12 Dec at Enigma - and we have two double passes, thanks to Resist.
6. Dappled Cities Fly are making their first ever Adelaide visit in support of their debut album 'A Smile' - and Smash Music are celebrating by slinging us three copies, each with a t-shirt to boot.
7. Figgkidd has just released his debut 'What Is Figgkidd' and chats about it with Alexis Buxton-Collins in this issue. What's more, we have five copies, thanks to Sony.
8. Alternatively, you could see Figgkidd live supporting Cypress Hill at Thebbie on Sun 12 Dec: we've got two double passes up for grabs, thanks again to Sony
9. U2 have just released their long-awaited 'How To Disarm An Atomic Bomb' and UMG have kindly sent us five copies. Note: as far as dB Magazine are aware, owning the CD won't actually qualify you to disarm atomic bombs. You'll need some sort of specialist training for that.
10. You like to rock, right? Scorpion Entertainment have allocated us two double passes for New Found Glory's show at Heaven on Tues 14 Dec - and check out Ryan Smith's interview with Cyrus Bolooki in this issue.
