Prize Frenzy™!
Well, Father Xmas has officially arrived in Adelaide, thanks to the brave men and women of our state's credit unions, but that fat elf has nothing on Frenzor™. Santa can barely be arsed getting presents out once a year, while dB Magazine's favourite fire-breathing hellbeast is dispensing booty every fourteen days with nary a shite tie or pair of socks among them. In fact, just look at what's on offer right now for those who dare to call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 19 Nov:
1. The Tea Party never need much of an excuse to visit SA, as you'll learn by reading Eddie Chan's interview with Jeff Martin in this issue, but the convenient fact is that they're playing at the Adelaide Uni Cloisters on Friday 26 Nov - and we have three double passes to the show, thanks to Frontier Touring and Scorpion Entertainment.
2. Brett Allen-Bayes reckons that Leonard Cohen's 'Dear Heather' has been well worth the wait - it's this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' and we have copies up for grabs, thanks to Sony.
3. Or maybe you'd sooner be scared silly? Foster Workshop PR have kindly handed over season passes to the US remake of Japanese horror hit 'The Grudge,' starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. Spookstastic!
4. Ben Revi has an illuminating chat with Sydney popsters Centipede in this issue and to celebrate they've slipped us a couple of copies of their brand new 'Save Your Cool Soul.'
5. Locals Wolf & Cub are tipped for great things - they tell Lenin Simos all about it in this issue, and Dot Dash have backed it up with copies of their self-titled debut CD-EP.
6. Speaking of local success stories, The Hilltop Hoods make their triumphant return to a metropolitan stage with a huge show at Thebarton Theatre on Sat 20 Nov, and to celebrate this mighty event the band have handed over three packs containing a double pass to the show and a signed copy of their CD 'The Calling.' Sweet!
7. Maybe your tastes are somewhere more left-of-centre? Then you'll want a copy of Dios Malos' self-titled album, thanks to Inertia. Check out Eddie Chan's interview with the lads in this issue.
8. 'Festival Express' opens in cinemas this week, featuring archival footage of The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and more - and we have five in-season double passes, each of which comes with a Festival Express t-shirt, thanks to Magna Pacific.
9. Kasabian are building up quite the buzz overseas, and BMG are offering you the chance to get on the bus early with packs containing a copy of their self-titled debut, a t-shirt and an impressive set of stickers.
10. Or maybe the current political climate has inspirde you to make a stand - and you can do so in song by getting along to the launch of the new 'Peace Not War' CD at Tonic Nightclub on Mon 29 Nov with The New Pollutants, Train Of Thought, Saritah and Soursob Bob, thanks to the organisers.
11. Can't get along but would like to sing for peace? Grab a copy of the aforementioned 'Peace Not War' CD, which gets a glowing review from Kelly Parish in this issue.
12. Or maybe you're intrigued - as well you might be - by The Cops? Eddie Chan talks to them in this issue and Love Police have kindly pledged some copies of their 'Stomp On Tripwires' debut, which is very good of them.
