Dirty Boy Studios, a new local recording studio, is offering local bands the chance to record one song of their choice for free. Songs will be compiled on a sampler CD that will be distributed to promote the bands involved as well as the studio itself. The studio now has quite a good collection of mics and outboard gear, including newly aquired amek/neve compressor/mic pres, as well as a Pro-Tools set up with 32 channels and total automation, plus a vast array of effects and plug ins. Interested bands should contact Glyn Milhench (Glyn.Milhench@regency.tafe.sa.edu.au) for further information.

Make sure you head down to Le Rox (Bridgeway Hotel, Pooraka) this Fri 5 Nov and be part of the filming of Tidal's special all ages 'In Concert' show. This perfomance will be filmed by up to five cameras as part of a promotional DVD for the Japanese market. Other bands on the bill will be Diatribe, The Jonestown Syndicate and A Red Dawn.

Slaughter Thou have finished the recording of 'The Anzac Hammer' - once the mastering and artwork are completed, they'll be ready to press. But until then, you can catch them at the Dawn of Azazel show at Jive on Sat 14 Nov with Juggermath and Raven Black Night.

Wicked World/Earache are pleased to announce their latest signing, South America's The Chasm. The Chasm play what they define as the 'heavy metal of death', a complex yet accessible style that combines influences from defining bands in extreme metal (Slayer, Possessed, Kreator, old Judas Priest and Bathory) with native South American tunings and musical structures largely unfamilar to ears attuned to Western scales. Their new album 'The Spell Of Retribution' will be on sale from Mon 8 Nov.

Deluge have now confirmed the date and line-up for their 'Diluvial Sorcery' CD launch: it will be at Enigma Bar on Fri 10 Dec with Blood Mason, Imminent Psychosis and Meat Wallet. The night will also double as the CD launch for Meat Wallet's new CD, 'Wrong Side Of Capitalism'. Doors open at 9pm, and entry is only $8.

Spirited California-based four piece Ignite are preparing to release their anticipated third album and tour the world thoroughly, including the first Australian dates in the band's decade-long history. The environmentally conscious hardcore act will play the Enigma Bar on Fri 19 Nov.
