Interpol.
Interpol's
Paul Banks takes my call backstage at the first night of the
Curiosa tour in the US, at which Interpol are just below the
headliners. "You're not robbing me of the experience of seeing
The Cure," he laughs, "but we are talking while they are playing,
yes. They're playing... [sings] doo doo doo, you know, the
new single [The End Of The World]. Their new record's
amazing. And with this tour - I mean, Mogwai are probably
my favourite live band in the world so I agree, it's a nice
bill. Nice for me!"...

Nonesuch/Warner
In
1966, after the critical acclaim of 'Pet Sounds' and while
the Beach Boys were away on tour, Brian Wilson, 24 year old
composer and studio auteur, stayed behind to put the next
album together.
Those who dropped in on the sessions told tales of Wilson's
insane methods, recording in swimming pools with vegetables

It's
time once again to determine who's been rocking your local
world over the past year with the Second dB Readers Awards,
or as we like to abbreviate it around these parts, the dBras
(as in debra)!
We're wanting YOU, beloved reader, to nominate your
favourite local band, venue, solo artist, release, new act
and more.
The top five in each category will go into the voting round,
making the dBras South Australia's only music-related award
that's entirely decided by you, the gig-going public!
