Grinspoon
+ The Camels
Heaven, Mon 30 Aug

Grinspoon A crowd just itching to get a taste of Grinspoon's latest efforts filled Heaven Nightclub to capacity. The show had sold out and there was no disputing why.

The Camels played a strong and very loud set to an appreciative crowd, but having taken a break from the touring circuit to write and record the Grinners were back with a vengeance.

Their newfound energy was apparent from start to finish. They opened their set with their latest single Hard Act To Follow, which set the standard for a high quality performance. Old favourites were played that both the crowd and the band revelled in. All on stage appeared to be having a great time, feeding off the crowd's enthusiasm which was displayed by cheers, head banging and the odd bit of crowd surfing - much to the distaste of security!

Chemical Heart was played over a huge roar and easily the favourite of the evening. The audience seemed a little surprised, especially the older fans, at some of the new material as it was taken back a notch and the pace slowed, in what was not typically 'live' Grinspoon. Still, they put on an awesome show and I doubt anyone there would disagree.
