Killing Heidi Killing Heidi
Killing Heidi
Sony

Well, it's been a while since Killing Heidi released anything, so naturally in that time I thought they would have taken the opportunity to refine their sound and perhaps even let it mature. Unfortunately that was't the case and all their latest self titled release has offer is one track after another of uniform whining by lead vocalist Ella Hooper backed with rarely catchy guitar riffs and standard drum beats.

Now, I was never the a huge fan to begin with but this time around I find Hooper's voice so damn annoying! She sings some of the time and for the rest of it makes nearly inaudible moans or simply groans in time with the music. It sounds like only half an album.

I guess, though, nothing can be that bad (can it?) so looking for some positive, and looking hard, I suppose the opening track I Am is tolerable, as is the slower paced Running Underwater. However, most of the tracks are fairly hard to distinguish from each other. There's nothing outstanding about 'Killing Heidi' and in my opinion you'd be happier hanging on to the $30 or donating it to a worthy charity: this album is a lost cause.
