Prize Frenzy™!
It's weather like this that makes us glad that one of our staff is an enormous scaled daemon that belches fire and sulphur, meaning that the dB Magazine office is always deliciously toasty. It more than makes up for the gory claw marks on the lino and the string of unexplained deaths. In any case, Frenzor™ has once again earned his keep by extricating another pile of the good stuff: call 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 30 July and make your claim for your choice of the following:
1. Eddie Chan reckoned that Juliana Hatfield's 'In Exile Deo' is so darn good that it simply must be this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too.' We thought he made a strong argument and so did Shock, who've flipped us a few copies.
2. Machine Translations' Jay Walker opens his heart to Jeremy Reglar in this issue and we have three double passes up for grabs for their show at Jive on Sat 31 July, thanks to the good people at Spunk!.
3. Velveteen Habit explain everything to Ryan Smith in this issue, and we have three copies of their 'Portraits & Poetry' CD to hand, thanks to the band.
4. Alexis Buxton-Collins gets both the straight up and the lowdown from TZU in this issue and we have three copies of their 'Position Correction' CD up for grabs, thanks to Slanted/Liberation
5. The Fauves are back with their cunningly self-titled album: Kelly Parish discusses it with Andy Cox in this issue, and we have copies to snaffle from our pals at Shock.
6. Steve Jones gets Junior to stop racing shopping trolleys long enough to tell him about their album launch at the Gov on Sat 31 July - and they've even handed over five double passes to said launch because they're nice lads.
7. Gary Moore tells Mark Liebelt all about the 'Power Of The Blues,' and BMG have conveniently furnished us with copies of the album of the same name. Synchronicity or what?
8. Sommerset are set to tear the Enigma Bar a new one on their tour behind the release of their 'Sat What You Want' CD - and as it happens, Shock have sent us five copies of that very record.
9. Lovers of renovation, Australian rock and barking mad couples will no doubt love a copy of 'The Block' soundtrack CD, featuring tracks from the likes of GT, Jet, the Dissociatives, Ben Harper, Moloko and more: we have copies up for grabs, thanks to Kerry O'Brien publicity.
Online Only Frenzy™!
The Beautiful Girls are back on the touring trail, back on the cover and back in our hearts - even the cold, logical, computer heart of the Frenztron5000™. Using its superior intellect and laser guided weaponry - and the generosity of the band and Two Fish Out Of Water publicity - it's come up with a humdinger of a prize: three packs each containing a double pass to their show at the Gov on Fri 30 July, a copy of their CD, a signed poster and an 'Insight' t-shirt! All you have to do is send a suitably beautiful plea to andrew@dbmagazine.com.au before Friday (since that's when the gig is a-happening) - but do it now. Now!
