Prize Frenzy™!
We're just over halfway through winter and frankly Frenzor has had just about enough of it. Whilst his fiery breath can have a village burning merrily in moments, having a heart as cold as the icy grip of death itself means that it can be a little hard to get going in the morning. Luckily his afternoons have been fruitfully spent ransacking the stockpiles of record companies and promotions people, which goes some way to explaining why you can grab your pick of the following by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 16 July:
1. Kelly Parish puts the big questions to Jebediah's Kevin Mitchell about the birth of their fourth album, 'Braxton Hicks' - and the good people at Jones PR have flipped us three copies of that very album.
2. Andrew P Street reckons that The Divine Comedy's 'Absent Friends' is one of the most freakingly great thing he's ever heard; so much so that it's this issue's 'We Liked It And You Will Too' - and we have copies copies up for grabs, thanks to EMI.
3. Steven Hocking discusses Wilco's much-anticipated 'A Ghost Is Born' with Glenn Kotche in this issue - and we have five copies of said album up for grabs, thanks to Warners.
4. Rock'n'roll legends the MC5 (well, three-fifths of them, under their DKT alias) are playing at Fowlers Live on Tues 27 July - and we have two double passes to the show, thanks to Peter Darwin Presents.
5. Andrew P Street speaks to Joey Santiago of The Martinis in this issue and tries unsuccessfully to restrain himself from asking about his years in the Pixies. In any case, Shock have kindly sent five copies of the Martinis' 'Smitten,' because they're sweeties.
6. Or maybe you'd like to settle down in the cinema with Julianne Moore and Pierce Brosnan? We have in-season passes to 'The Laws Of Attraction,' thanks to Foster Workshop PR.
7. My Friend The Chocolate Cake have just released the career-spanning best of 'Parade' and Helen Mountford tells Steven Hocking all about it in this issue - and Gaynor Crawford Publicity have kindly furnished us with three copies of said album.
8. Ann Marie Sosnowski has a fine chat with Ms Kasey Chambers about her imminent Adelaide shows - and because EMI are such fine folks they've slipped us three double passes to her show at the Festival Theatre on Tues 27 July.
9. Alexis Buxton-Collins gets the lowdown from Ozomatli about their imminent tour and new CD 'Street Signs' - of which, conveniently, we have five copies thanks to Shock.
10. Steve Jones talks the talk with Rob "Millsy" Mills about his imminent debut CD, 'Up All Night' - and we have three copies, thanks to BMG
11. The 2004 season of dB Magazine's Big Indoor Cinema at the Mercury kicks off with 'High Fidelity' on Tues 27 July, and we have three season passes to the entire darn season, thanks to the Mercury and... us!
Online Only Frenzy™!
