Better late than never to announce the FULL line up of Heaven's new Thursday Night, Surgery which features Brendon, Noddy, Damage, Odyssey, Mr S, Mal Chia, Patch, H-Bomb, Lachy Pender and Agent Smith alongside the vocal skills of MCs Pab and Quantum: a night of extraordinary skill and music.
The king of rolling and smashing dancefloor drum and bass is back to blow the roof off Traffic. Aphrodite wowed the wowsers when he played here last, so get along and see this true legend of d'n'b. Local support from Mark 7, Patch, Toxin, Noddy, Del with Xpress and Pase MC on the mic.
Destruction II on Sat 17 July brings together shirt tearing hard housemaster Casper alongside yet another hard legend Superfast Oz, with the finest local line up. Two rooms, one hard house, the other techno with the line up to be announced, this is sure to shake away those winter blues!
Fabric is turning 3 on Fri 23 July, and to celebrate they're bringing a very special international guest out to play... but they're being tight lipped on whom it might be! Given the amount of excellent acts travelling around Australia at the moment, it could be anyone... but if you want to know you gotta go!
Calibre needs no introduction to the d'n'b lovers of Adelaide, and he touches down in Traffic on Fri 23 July. Unfortunately he's not bringing the 7-piece band down here, but expect a massive night of smooth tunes and awesome mixing.
I'm loathe to admit it... but I missed Winter Enchanted. The dance music event of the season, and I wasn't there. Mind you, that's because I was interstate... but that's the thing with Adelaide; we go out because we can. Whilst we love the music, 'going out' seems more about the company, the vibe, and the collective consciousness that occurs at our big parties than just the music. I've found you really don't get that anywhere else, and that's what makes Adelaide special. Big ups to all the promoters and DJs who've persevered through some pretty tough times to make this scene one of the best in the world!
Not to say the party that I went to was crap... Hell NO! Winter Breaks in Sydney was an amazing party, full of the music that I really love, and again I'm pleased to hear the acts say that Australia has one of the best dance scenes in the world. Even Qbert stuck around for 3 hours after his set, chilling and talking to fans. In fact, our scene is so good, one of the best DJs in the world, Adam Freeland, is moving to the sunny shores of Sydney in October, so expect to see him play all over the country this Summer, as the self confessed surf nut follows the sun. YAY!
