Kit And The Widow
Banquet Room, Festival Centre
Wed 16 June until Sat 19 June

Following well received performances in Melbourne and Sydney last year with American comedienne Joan Rivers, the deliciously arch and wicked 'two men and a piano' are in Adelaide for four performances. Those who are tickled by the satire of Flanders and Swann, Noel Coward, Tom Lehrer and even Julian Clary will find this show a real hoot, as will those fans of university reviews and British comedy in general.

Forming as a duo whilst studying at Cambridge two decades ago, Kit (Hesketh-Harvey) and his boyish offsider ('straight man' and pianist, Richard Sissons) the puzzlingly name 'Widow' have gone on to gain a loyal following at home in the UK due to their TV and Radio series, West End performances as well as those at the prestigious Edinburgh festival.

In a truly savagely humourous revue that attacked everybody from the Anglican clergy and George W Bush, to Stephen Sondheim, Lord Lloyd Webber and the world of French cabaret, the capacity opening night audience were courted, abused and above all delighted by the waspishly witty repartee and songs.

The audience sang along to the Puccini war horse Nessun Dorma - the text provided on this occasion was an Indian menu in Punjabi - was just one of many highlights in the hilariously witty and salacious show.

For those after even more interactive fun, this irascible duo will be taping a show that will also feature special guests for their BBC radio series on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm for an hour and a half of irreverent satire from which few will escape. Don't miss it.
