Prize Frenzy™!

It might be chilly out there, but it's always warm in the bosom of the mighty Frenzor™. That's mainly because his very breath is a fiery plume, rich with the ripe, fetid stench of the flesh of the lost and unmourned, but the warmth also works as a metaphor in the sense that he's very generous. Just look at the haul he's offering up this fortnight - and by calling 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 18 June you can dip a cautious hand into the writhing sack of Prize Frenzy™ and haul out the following:

1. Patti Smith's 'Trampin'' is a well-deserved 'We Liked It And You Will Too' this issue: read Suzy Ramone's review, then grab a copy thanks to Sony.

2. Or maybe you'd like to welcome Alex Lloyd back to town? He chats with Chris Niehus this issue and we've got two double passes for Mr Lloyd's Wed 30 June show up for grabs, thanks to the Governor Hindmarsh.

3. Need something a little more rock? Cassie Hilditch quizzes The Datsuns all about their brand new 'Outta Sight/Outta Mind' album, and Shock have slung us some copies for your new-rock pleasure.

4. Or maybe you'd sooner have a listen to the fascinating new Gomez album? Read Eddie Chan's interview in this issue, then grab a copy of 'Split The Difference' thanks to EMI.

5. The way Lenin Simos tells it, Papa M's gig at Jive should be up there with Christ returning to earth to front the Pixies - but you can judge for yourself by grabbing a double pass to their show at Jive on Sun 27 June, thanks to Handsome Tours.

6. Ryan Smith was very taken with the DVD of 'Raising Victor Vargas' and his review thereof implies that you should grab one of the copies that Kaleidoscope have so kindly sent our way.

7. Or are you feeling a little low on hip-hop? Then you might benefit from 'Hip-Hop II: The Collection,' featuring the likes of the Black Eyed Peas, Jay-Z and Ludacris, from the good folks at UMG.

8. Steve Jones was more than eager to return to the humour of the seventies via the 'Best Of Paul Hogan' double DVD - read his review in this issue, then grab a copy thanks to Sony.

9. And while you're in the seventies, you'll more than likely want to hear some Acca Dacca, and we have the next best thing with the soundtrack to 'Thunderstruck' - which features a whole mess of people paying tribute to the Dac' - thanks again to Sony.

Online Only Frenzy™!

Sure, both of John Butler's shows at Thebbie Theatre might have sold out, but don't underestimate the power of the Frenztron5000™ - we've got double passes to both shows up for grabs. What we want to know is this: what would your ideal Day With John Butler entail? Most right-on entries that get to andrew@dbmagazine.com.au get a double pass - and specify which day you'd prefer (Tues 29 June or Wed 30 June).
