There's been a last minute venue-change for the Nazxul/Virgin Black show this Fri 4 June. Due to unforeseen circumstances the show has now moved to the Enigma Bar. The Eternal will still perform, but unfortunately Of The Human Condition are no longer be able to play. Doors open after 10.30pm, with a metal DJ downstairs from 10pm.

Double Dragon are pleased to announce their return to the live scene with a new line-up, now consisting of former members of Screwface:13, ThreeChainBreak and Undamynd. They will reveal their killer new sound for their comeback show on Fri 4 June at Fowler's Live, which will also feature Truth Corroded, Sydney tech grinders Flesh Mechanic, Queensland's D-Nine and local bands Enemy Of? and Later That Night. This will be Truth Corroded's last local show before entering the studio to record 'Our Enemy is the Weapon'. Doors open at 7pm, so be early! For more details check out www.truthcorroded.com.

The long-delayed Carcass compilation 'Choice Cuts' has now finally been released. Compiled in co-operation with the band, the release is now five years overdue as the project has been on indefinite hiatus following drummer Ken Owen's serious health problems. The 21-track album is available in stores from this week.

Prepare once more for Adelaide's annual descent into hell! Armageddon Adelaide III will be held on Fri 27 Aug and Sat 28 Aug at the Enigma Bar. With metal DJs all night, drink specials, two storeys of metal hell (with classic videos screened downstairs), the full line-up has yet to be announced, but currently confirmed bands are Nazxul (NSW), Gospel of the Horns (Vic), Grenade (NSW), Bludgeoner (NSW), Nocturnal Graves (Vic), Darklord, Lord of the Command, Raven Black Night, Slaughter Thou and Juggermath. Century Media is proud to announce that British extreme metal legends Napalm Death have signed a worldwide deal with the label. The first release under the new alliance will be the follow-up to the 'Leaders Not Followers' EP, the long-awaited collection of covers entitled 'Leaders Not Followers 2'. The album will feature the band's original bass player on the B-side of 'Scum', Jim Whiteley, on two tracks. Explains bass player Shane Embury: "Jim and I have remained friends over the years... and I thought it would be a good idea to get him playing on a couple of tracks for fun as well as for personal reasons, as I think his input into the band in the early days was sorely overlooked. His lyrics on the B-side of 'Scum' are for me unique."

And in other news of recent signings, Sydney's Daysend have recently announced a multi-album deal with Metal Blade Records for the North American release of their current album 'Severance' as well as for future releases. The band are currently in negotiations with a European label for a similar deal.

Lycosa are a new band who are experimenting with technical metal, off-time hardcore breakdowns and eerie melodies. Featuring Tash (Autonomy) on drums, Will (ex-Abuse Ritual, ex-Animus) on guitar, Tanya (Star Ten Hash, ex-Abuse Ritual) on bass, plus guitarist Aaron and vocalist Adam, Lycosa will played their first show on Sat 29 May at the Kangarilla Footy Club. They hope to play at the June Gothic Ball, but this has yet to be confirmed so keep an eye on www.geocities.com/lycosametal for further updates.

UK doom rockers Cathedral are working on a double-CD best-of-and-rarities collection spanning the band's Earache period: 27 tracks in total, over two and a half hours playing time. Featuring outstanding artwork from Cathedral's long-time collaborator Dave Patchett and in-depth interviews with frontman Lee Dorrian and guitarist Gaz Jennings and exclusive images and material from the band's own archives, this release also offers up rare demo recordings and some unusual re-workings of Cathedral classics. 'The Serpent Gold' will be in stores from Mon 21 June.
