Prize Frenzy™!

Now, what with this whole "Easter" thing that Frenzor™ has heard so much about, this issue's Prize Frenzy™ will fall on a Thursday rather than the traditional Friday. That's because we're all about unpredictability here at dB Magazine. There's no telling what we'll do. Heck, maybe we'll just keep all the prizes for ourselves and take an early holiday - what would you do then? NOTHING, that's what. How do you like THEM apples? Hahahahahahaha!

Sorry, where were we?

Ah, yes, Prize Frenzy™: it's at 1pm on Thurs 8 April, on 8231 0881. Ring up and ask for stuff. Frenzor™ and Frenzette™ will be standing by:

1. Fur Patrol are on our cover and in our hearts, since they've just released their 'Collider' CD - read Wade Howland's illuminating chat in this issue and then grab a copy of that very CD, thanks to UMG.

2. Ben Revi got on a conference call with a pair of Dissociatives - Daniel "Johnsey" Johns and Paul "Macsey" Mac - and to celebrate this meeting of minds the good people at EMI have fronted up with five Dissociatives packs, containing a copy of their self-titled CD, a sticker and a mouse mat, all thanks to the good people at EMI.

3. The Mercury's Cineasia season continues to bring you the best in recent Asian cinema with 'Ten,' hailed as one of the finest films to ever come out of Iran. They've even given us ten double passes for it's April season

4. Starky have a good old yarn with Ben Revi in this issue, and to celebrate their first ever trip to Adelaide the lovely sorts at Laughing Outlaw Records have given us three Starky packs, consisting of a double pass to their show at Jive on Sat 17 April and a copy of their 'Mirror Signal Manoeuvre' CD.

5. Having read Scott Berry's review of the Waifs show at Thebbie, maybe you've a hankering to hear their new single Bridal Train. Singles. And you can, since Jones PR have very kindly sent some our way.

6. Dan Kelly was more than happy to talk about his debut CD, 'Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males Sing The Tabloid Blues' - and you can sing along with them when you win a copy of that very record, thanks to Shock.

7. Want to get along to see The Redsunband and Love Outside Andromeda (aka Andromeda) play at the Enigma Bar on Fri 16 April? You're in luck! Liberation have furnished us with three double passes to said show!

8. Or maybe that's not hard enough for you. You want to get along to Prepare To Burn, the all-day, all-ages hardcore and metal fest at Fowlers Live on Sun 18 April. And we have some double passes up for grabs, thanks to Da Big Pig.

9. With the new MISA directory just around the corner, we've got some copies of the two 'Sound Of MISA' compilations (featuring a whole mess of the best bands in Adelaide, many doing otherwise unobtainable tracks!). Two whole CDs thereof!

10. With critics falling over themselves to say nice things about 'The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind,' the good people at Fosters Workshop PR have handed over 15 in-season double passes so that you might say some yourself!

11. Queensland mad people Vanlustbader are coming to Adelaide for the very first time in support of their debut CD-EP, entitled 'Power Makes Sense.' To celebrate, the band have slung us five copies of that very CD for your listening pleasure!

Online Only Frenzy™!

The Frenztron5000™ isn't cruel, per se - after all, it's merely a vast spacefaring supercomputer bristling with weaponry - but it does get a chuckle out of people hurting themselves for no good reason. Hence, it's got a couple of double passes to see Jackass' Steve O at Thebarton Theatre on Sun 18 April. Hence, we want the funniest injury you've ever performed on yourself, accidentally or otherwise. Funniest two entries to reach andrew@dbmagazine.com.au by Tues 13 April get a double pass, thanks to Peter Darwin Presents.
