The 8th Annual South Australian Dance Music Awards will be held at the John Difede Reception Centre on Mon 19 April. Celebrating excellence within SA's Dance Music community, these awards are a great way for various promoters and DJs to put aside any differences they may have, musical or otherwise, and get together for a night of rollicking fun! This year dB Magazine is proud to be sponsoring the hip-hop award, and we wish all nominees in all categories the best of luck!

YAY! It's Easter Time! Four wonderful days off, most of which will be full of us stuffing our faces with egg, causing thousands of mass sugar hangovers and sore stomachs on Tuesday back at work... the Lord Jesus gave his life so we can rejoice!

Showing respect to the Lord, and the liquor licensing commission, Chemistry closes at 12 midnight on Thu 8 April, so don't go out expecting a big one!

Good Friday also sees the long anticipated return of the UK's Diva of Hard Dance Lisa Lashes, and Netherlands' 4 Strings, who sold out their shows last year. Hot from the success of "Get it On", Moguai, along with leading Sydney DJ Declan, make their Adelaide debut for Twice as Nice, an event which is certain to be a sell out. But if you miss it, then get along to Heaven on Sunday night to be amazed as the second part of the weekend unfolds. Live and direct from Italy, complete with eight piece band, Planet Funk are joined by Junior Jack and Kid Crme.

No Nonsense Records & Midtown present Ultrasonic vs. Public Domain like you've never seen them before! At a new secret outdoor location, your favourite DJs go hard for a massive mash up of your favourite oldskool and newskool tunes on Fri 9 April. This is an all-ages event, so what reason would you have not to attend? Location will be revealed on the day, and you can get details by calling 1902 225 888. Tres underground!

The powerhouses of Adelaide's rave scene, responsible for System 6, Frantic, Enchanted, Ultraworld Anthems and Twice as Nice, proudly bring you the Tidy Weekender on Fri 9 April, spearheaded by the worlds No.1 Live hard dance act LAB4 and Tidy Trax ber-weapon Guyver straight outta the UK, alongside Germany's Warp Brothers and a line up of Adelaide's biggest rave and club DJs and MCs. Utilising St Pauls in the best way possible, this is the true definition of the word "party."

La Bomba invite you to celebrate the lively rhythms of the Caribbean and Latin America with Adelaide's own world class Latin orchestra TNT LATINOz beating out percussive Latin Jazz, mambo, salsa, merengue, funky Cumbia and Cuban dance grooves. Joining the festivities are some of the greatest Hispanic dancers in Adelaide including Brazilian samba by Las Chicas Bomba, Argentine Tango by Siempre Tango, Spanish Flamenco by Studio Flamenco and Caribbean style Salsa and Dominican Merengue by La Bomba Dance crew. All this is happening at The Gov on Sat 10 April.

Playtime is the new weekly drum and bass night at Traffic, brought to you by Big Dog Records and Stardust. Playtime will usually be on Fridays, with the occasional Sunday long weekend foray - as with this Easter Sunday, which features Bad Company, Tali and Moving Fusion. Local support is from Mark 7, Fiction and Pab, with a whole room of chill d'n'b out the back.

The next weekend is a hell of a lot slower, which is a good thing because after the fun of Easter, I think everyone will need a weekend off! Chemistry continues the good vibes on Thu 15 April with the rudely named Doss C*nts, but don't let the name put you off because these guys will make sure you have a good time.

All the regular clubnights are still happening though: Absolut Fridays at the Soda Room and Karma at Black Kat White Cat will still be kicking it on Fri 16 April, plus Push at Traffic and Spectrum at Cargo on Sat 17 April: get down, shake your booty, and support these regular club nights because they're what keeps the big parties coming!
