Prize Frenzy™!
We might be weekly at the moment, but the increased frequency has done nothing to prevent Frenzor™! (the baleful winged golem that wields Prize Frenzy™! like a diabolical many-headed whip) from cutting his usual swathe through the cowering masses of publicists that shudder at his merest approach. Which is neat, since it means that simply by ringing 8231 0881 at 1pm on Fri 27 Feb you, dear reader, can thrust your arm into the scorpion-filled treetrunk of Prize Frenzy™! and scrabble for the following:
1. First up, you know you need some dance in your life: and the dance that you need is the Australian Dance Theatre’s ‘Held.’ We have two double passes available for the preview on Mon 1 March at Her Majestys Theatre, thanks to ADT.
2. Lenin Simos reckons that Liars’ ‘They Were Wrong, So We Drowned’ is one of the most challenging and impressive albums he ‘s heard in a good long time. So fervent was he that we made it this issue’s ‘We Liked It And You Will Too’ and EMI gave us five copies to give away, because they’re ace.
3. Want to catch former Ride mainman Mark Gardener at Jive on Wed 3 March? Then you’d better grab the double pass that Kramig have slipped our way.
4. You want to hear the rather spiffy new CD by former Snout mainman Ross McLennan, huh? Then grab a copy of ‘Songs From The Brittle Building’ thanks to Miranda Brown Publicity!
5. Ben Revi has a good old heart-to-heart with Justin from End Of Fashion about their debut CD-EP ‘Rough Diamonds’ - and we have five copies of said release, thanks to EMI.
6. Seattle’s Theatre Simple are here for the Fringe and have very generously handed over double passes for their sexy new play ‘Parrot Fever (or, Lies I’ve Told In Chat Rooms)’ and the rock-comedy ‘The Big Time’ (featuring songs written by Chris Ballew from the Presidents of the USA, fact fans!). We’ve got three double passes for each show at the FringeHUB on Mon 1 March and Tues 2 March: ‘Parrot Fever’ is at 8.45pm both nights and ‘The Big Time’ is 5.15pm.
