Screw the normal banter, there’s too much exciting stuff on, and it’s too damn hot! Not that I’m complaining, it’s just that it snuck up on us all, giving rise to all kinds of heavenly mischief!
Fresh from promoting Enchanted Forest and
after his breath taking set on Triple J Mix Up, Adelaide’s own
DJ Devious hits Chemistry to launch his On The J’s Mix CD. Backed
by DJs Souli, Josh, Brendon, Damage, Jayse and MC Tim, this
should be an awesome set by one of Adelaide’s best techno DJs.
On Fri 20 Feb the Adelaide Fringe kicks off with a massive parade from Rundle Road, to East Terrace, into North Terrace, then Frome Road, and ends in a party down at the FringeHUB, at the University of Adelaide. Get down and funky at the HUB as the night takes hold! The FringeLOUNGE showcases the FreshBAIT Band alongside Insect Seeking Technology, Trentwood, DJ JD and the Brown Hornet, with DJ Josh, The New Pollutants and VJ Elendil on the Hub Lawns.
Sat 21 Feb join USA house stars Lance Desari
and JT Donaldson as they take over the new club Sweet Nothings
for a night to unleash their trademark house sounds on Adelaide.
At their prime with remixes for Migs, Chicken Lips, Brett Johnson
and others, these guys are set to explode in 2004! Support supplied
by Bundi, Sanjii, Medusa, Paul Glen and Stevie.
From Italy, hard trance style: TH Trance Generators DJ Ben and Radium. Founding fathers of Future Sound Corporation, will be appearing on stage with 4 decks and 2 mixers at Bass Station. Joining them is the equally impressive Bulletproof.
DJ Pots is known for delivering seamless
mixes of the most up to date dubplates, as well as Bulletproof’s
latest productions, so get along to see why he is a force to
be reckoned with when behind the ones and twos. Along with Bass
Station and Turbine regulars, this is one night that’s sure
to get temperatures to rise further!
There’s even more coming, just a quick glimpse up the top shows you that, and we’ll have more interviews and information as the great gigs get closer!
Finally, are you dance music mad? Good with
spelling, grammar and punctuation? We are looking for competent
and reliable writers to join our little team here at dB Magazine.
Whilst an interest in all forms of dance music would suit best,
a particular fondness for d’n’b and hard house (the sounds of
Adelaide) would be an added bonus. To apply, send a 250-word
review of an album released in 2003 or 2004 to dart@dbmagazine.com.au
– get going, kids.
