Seven Questions... of Fame! · d. Henry Fenton and Little Birdy

Seven Questions - of Fame!

This time around acoustic strumster d. Henry Fenton and Matt Chequer, drummer of Little Birdy, who’ve each strapped on the virtual reality helmets and plugged into the mainframe of www.dbmagazine.com.au's Seven Questions of FAME!

1. What's part of your complete breakfast?

MC: Lots of coffee and lots of cigarettes

DHF: A Soya Latte a cheese Tomato Croissant a copy of The Australian and somewhere sunny to sit.

2. Why should people come to your show/buy your CD?

MC: I would hope they would want to come because they like our music, but if they want a totally superficial reason, our singer is a bit of a looker.

DHF: People should come to the show to engage in a unique emotional and musical experience, and maybe have a beer or wine whilst enjoying the sweet surrounds that The Grace Emily has to offer. They should buy the CD because it has a real Chamberlin on it, and if you don't know what a Chamberlin is well... you'll have to buy the CD to find out then, won't you?

3. What three people would you least like to be trapped in a lift with, and why?

MC: Alyssa Milano, cause I wouldn't be able to control myself. Russell Crowe, cause I don't like being trapped in lifts with arrogant wankers. George Bush. Can you imagine listening to him for hours until you are rescued?

DHF: Nicole Kidman, Michael Jackson and Inky Winky: that combination of people and telly tubby would probably freak me out, man! For life.

4. What's the best thing you've heard lately?

MC: There's a guy from Perth called Steve Parkin who is making a record with the guys who did our first EP. It's my favourite disc at the moment. He's got a real Bowie meets the Beatles meets the Stones thing going on. I love it.

DHF: Musically the best thing I've heard is a 1970's bootleg of a Neil Young solo concert where he's playing stuff from ‘Harvest’ and as it was not released at the time of this concert, the audience are unknowing and silent for songs which are so embedded in our social psyche – well, mine anyway - that it also becomes humorous to listen to.

5. Millenium Falcon vs Starship Enterprise: who'd win?

DHF: Well I'd much rather hang out with Han, Chewie and a Princess than a spandex wearing crew anyday. Millenium Falcon

MC: Millennium Falcon. I hate Star Trek.

6. What invention is the world obviously crying out for?

MC: Some sort of format where people can still download songs, but the artist actually gets paid. The copy control on CDs is a good idea, but we still need to be able to play it on a DVD player or computer. I'm sure they'll get there one day.

DHF: Are you serious? A sock duplicator of course! If you find an odd sock you insert it into a special slot and within a matter of seconds a matching sock is made. This of course can be translated to gloves, shoes and hell even body parts. I don't know why anyone hasn't seen the potential in this sort of device.

7. Have you got a message for The Kids?

MC: Never trust a man with a beard. Ah! and coffee and cigarettes are not considered part of a substantial breakfast.

DHF: Learn to think for yourself, and use condoms at first.

d. Henry Fenton plays at the Grace Emily on Thurs 5 Feb, and his CD ‘Autumn Sweet’ is out now through Laughing Outlaw.

Little Birdy play at the Enigma Bar on Sat 7 Feb, and their new CD-EP will be out very shortly through EMI. See Prize Frenzy™ to win free stuff!
