BDO Art Comp
Every year we give away a double pass to the Big Day Out.
Find out who won this year's BDO Art Competition!

Prize Frenzy™!

Now, normally Prize Frenzy™! is on the Friday after the issue comes out, but since Frenzor™!, Frenzette™! and the Frenztron5000™! are all planning to be at the Big Day Out (in fact, Frenzor™! is in discussions with The Darkness about his cameo in their stage show even now, while the Frenztron5000™! is touring with Afrika Bambaataa), we're bringing it forward to Thurs 29 Jan. Yes, that's right - a whole day earlier! Same time (1pm), same number (8231 0881), but on Thursday instead of Friday. That's what dB Magazine is all about, shaking people out of their complacency, moving you out of your comfort zone, etc etc etc.

1. Alexis Buxton-Collins has a fine chat with Nfamas from 1200 Techniques about their upcoming Big Day Out performance and new album, ‘Consistency Theory’ – and we have some copies of that very album, thanks to Sony.

2. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Screamfeeder, but Tim Steward assures Ben Revi that ‘Take You Apart’ has been worth the wait – and you can assess this bold claim for yourself by grabbing one of the three copies that Rhythm Ace have sent our way.

3. How’s THIS for exclusive? We’ve got three copies of Hello Minnesota!’s rather splendid demo – you can’t get this in your stores or your fancy boutiques: you can only get it here, in the mighty Frenzy"!. Check out Cassie Hilditch's interview with the gals in this issue.

4. Heath Robinson reckons that Paul Van Dyke's 'Reflections' is one heck of an album. That's why it's this issue's 'We Liked It - And You Will Too' and it's the reason behind Shock slipping us some copies for your dancing pleasure.

5. Little Birdy are coming to town for a show at the Enigma Bar on Sat 7 Feb, and they’ve even answered this issue’s Seven Questions – Of Fame! at dbmagazine.com.au. And we have two double passes to their show up for grabs, thanks to EMI.

6. Or maybe you’d prefer something more rockin’? Alexis Buxton-Collins talked the talk with Lee Glaze about their BDO berth, and Sony have slung us some copies of their ‘Start Something’ CD to celebrate.

7. The Mercury Cinema are kicking off their 2004 CineAsia season of 24 films throughout the year, and they’ve kindly given us two season passes (that’s right: the best in Asian cinema ALL YEAR LONG) because they are kind.

8. The way Justin Blatchford tells it, Duncan James is one of the most interesting new singer/songwriters around. You can be the judge by grabbing a copy of his (that’s Duncan, not Justin) brand new She’s A Satellite single, thanks to BMG.

9. Lovers of motorcycles, or forces upon the axis of a turning object, will want to get along to see "Torque" - and you can do that, by grabbing some double passes thanks to Foster Workshop PR.

ONLINE ONLY FRENZY™!

You know you want to see the Sleepy Jackson, don't you?
They barely get back from Big Day Out before they swan back to Fowlers Live for a show on Sun 22 Feb – all you have to do is answer this ridiculously easy question:

Sleepy's leader Luke Steele's little sister fronts which band?

First two correct answers to andrew@dbmagazine.com.au get along to the show, thanks to Fowlers Live.
