The Australian Dance Music Awards were announced the other week, and if you haven't seen it on Channel V or numerous dance music related websites, then head over to www.dancemusicawards.net to see all the winners. Briefly, SA's 'peoples choice' winners were Clubland for best night, and DJ Brendon for best DJ. Melbourne's Phil K got the Outstanding Contribution to Dance award, and well deserved too. Best Producer and Best Single went to Infusion, who should be touching down in Adelaide on the Fri 19 Dec. Best Hiphop act was 1200 Techniques, while Best Turntablist went to the Avalanches' Dexter. Breaks basically wiped the floor in all categories, and it's a real wonder that Adelaide hasn't managed to be swept up in breaks fever. Traffic hosts some excellent breaks nights featuring the best internationals such as Adam Freeland, BLIM, Krafty Kuts, alongside Australia's best, and even the Enchanted crew are representing with Hexstatic and Amon Tobin at Enchanted Forest 2003, so hopefully Adelaide will embrace breaks a little more next year.

This week we kick off with the incredibly popular DJ's Delight, featuring Bank-C tearing up the dnb in Traffic on Fri 28 Nov. Also incredibly popular is Hooligan Jam at Mojo West, bringing you the greatest and latest 2-step and garage.

Crown & Sceptre celebrate it's two year anniversary under its new management on Sat 29 Nov with DJs representing Outbreak, Kumfy Klub and Funky'n'Lively Fridays. Performing for your pleasure will be Magma, New White Sneakers and Soul Picnic with DJs Jaywalker, Noodle, The Activist, Brad and Smiley.

Sat 29 Nov also sees The Gov showcasing a select line up of talented DJs and live acts for a night of techno, breaks and trance. Kill Switch features Derek Lang, Breaks Keogh, Bosch, and Glen Booker with a live performance by The Gov's favourites, Amoeba.

Expect to hear the freshest cuts at CiscoNights, also on Sat 29 Nov. Featuring DJs Lachlan Pender, Matt Parker, Moe, Antiks and Schona playing boompty chicago to soulful San Franciso house and everything in between, including the funkiest festival breaks!

Bass Station brings home Triston Mason, trance magician from Bass Melbourne for a night of uplifting and powerful trance on Sat 29 Nov at St Pauls. Alongside Triston will be DMA winner Brendon, with regulars Woody, Damage, Phat Controller, and Brett Witter.

The trance will continue at Chemistry on Thu 4 Dec as Holland's DJ Isaac touches down to lift you up to brand new heights.

The Breaks on-Ngage tour hits town on Fri 5 Dec, featuring Australia's finest breaks performers including DJs Kid Kenobi, John Doe, Gully, DJ Rasp, Shredlock, VJ jmg13 and Live Act NuBreed.

Breaks will also be cranking at Push's Ladies Night at Traffic on Sat 6 Dec, as the dreadlocked breakbeat master himself Freq Nasty heads to Adelaide! DJ Josh and Cheeky B will be performing, and it's free entry and champagne for women before midnight.

Get ready for a hiphop explosion as two of the biggest names in the history of hiphop return to Adelaide. Cypress Hill play Mon 8 Dec, and Public Enemy play Tue 9 Dec, with both these tremendous events to occur at Heaven, and this is a real treat for hiphop lovers so don't miss out!

There's heaps more to come this month, including Naughty by Nature & Downsyde, Carl Cox, and of course Enchanted Forest, not to mention who's coming next year, so get your boogie shoes on and get ready for a huge summer!

And lastly, our wonderful disseminator of intelligent, useful information the Advertiser reported last week that Adelaide needs a younger population or faces devastation within the next few decades years or so. So, to quote Jello Biafra (who did a spoken word thing here last Sunday) completely out of context "Pump up your drug supply!: drink more, stop using condoms and the pill, start spreading your seed, and start popping out those babies! It's up to you to save us all!"
