Hip hip hurray for summer days! Finally after weeks of seemingly endless rain and cloudy skies, the warm weather is out in force! Pity I also suffer from hayfever, so it means I walk around looking stoned out of my mind! I wouldn't mind it if I was stoned out of my mind, but the sniffling and headaches are not welcome!

Australian Dance Music pats itself on the back this Wed 12 November, as the annual Dance Music Awards get beamed around Australia for the first time ever. Major Sponsor Motorola, Triple J, Channel V and inthemix.com.au finally give a little more credibility and impact to the event, and to dance music in general. The Garage Bar will host the Adelaide satellite event, with all the city's movers and shakers present under one roof to celebrate the awards. There will be an event showcasing some of the leading lights of our scene, with live performances by local music producers and an after party featuring some of our finest DJs, in addition to screening the direct telecast of the award ceremony.

Regarded amongst Brisbane's elite DJs, Brisbane's Brad Revell touches down in Chemistry for one night only on Thur 13 Nov. This is a night not to be missed by Trance enthusiasts.

After a mindblowing feat of beats and breaks at Stardust last year, the Boy Lost In Music is set to lead us astray at traffic on Fri 14 Nov. After interviewing BLIM for this edition, I for one cannot wait to hear him! If he is half as passionate about playing the music as he is talking about it, then I'm sure it will be a set remembered for a while to come yet.

For the hard house crew, Sat 15 Nov sees Voyeurism: Sensory Overload upstairs at the Griffins Head. Expect two hours of freeform madness as Sydney's DJ Fenix returns to go back to back with Adelaide's Mr S. Other DJs on the night include KP Star, Force & Sniper, Odyssey, Adrian-V, Subbo & Quantum, and Cheeky-B, along with the vocal talents of Xtreme and Quantum.

Inbound returns to the Crown & Sceptre on Sat 15 Nov. Supporting local talent is what this crew have always been about, and this time Future Forces 3 has the skills of C1, Khem and Sublmnl, with MC Pase guesting on the mic. The regular crew of Fiction, Filter, Patch and Tommy Jr alongside MCs Pab and Xpress will be down playing some of the finest drum and bass on a sound system supplied by Andy J.

Get ready as the two original innovators of hip-hop combine for a performance not to be missed from any hip-hop fan. Bust a move as Tone Loc and Young MC hit Heaven for one night only, Sun 16 Nov.

Blank & Jones... sounds like a clothing label, doesn't it? Well, they're Europe's biggest superstar DJs: Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones. Having headlined the world's most prestigious events - Trance Energy, Mayday, Lovestern Galaktika and Berlin's Love Parade, they're set to rock your world for the first time in Adelaide at Heaven's Chemistry on Thurs 29 Nov.

Fri 28 Nov is the last of the month, and the ever-popular Hooligan Jam features DJs Funky J, Didge, G-Swift, Pab and Johnny Cochran playing a range of beats from old school hiphop to the freshest two-step at Mojo West.

Sat 29 Nov sees The Gov showcasing a select line up of talented DJs and live acts for a night of techno, breaks and trance. Presented by Dogbox Studios and Daylight Breaks, Kill Switch features Derek Lang, Breaks Keogh, Bosch and Glen Booker with a live performance by Amoeba.

Three Reasons, Outbreak and Kumfy Klub are joining forces to celebrate the Crown & Sceptre's second Birthday under its new management. On Sat 29 Nov experience three live acts plus a host of DJs: Soul Picnic will kick off the night, representing the Friday night Funky'n'Lively format, then hot soul/funk/dance act The New White Sneakers will take to the stage, and funk'n'beats explosion Magma will do the late set. Providing the DJ support will be Smiley and Outbreak DJs Jaywalker, Noodle and The Activist while upstairs in the Kafe, Kumfy Klub presents vinyl groovers Texjah, Brad and guests playing the choicest funky house, dancefloor beats and uptempo grooves.

There's been a change in the way dance information is circulated around Adelaide. Two of the most important websites have changed. The Adelaide Massive website, catering for those with the love of d'n'b, has moved to www.adelaidemassive.com. The System 6 website, that also covered the Enchanted Crew, has moved to www.raveadelaide.net, NOT to be confused with adrave.org. On Sat 29 Nov the Rave Adelaide crew would like to invite all its members to join them in celebrating the new website at an event at Traffic.

Thank you dear dance voters for the huge response for the dB Magazine Readers Awards (the dBRAs). The winners will be announced at 'Show and Tell', a showcase presented by dB and the Music Index of South Australia during the Fuse Festival on Friday 22. A full list of winners will be published in the next issue (dB#318), released on 27 November.
