Despite success nationally and, to a degree, internationally, Oni has been forced to call it a day due to internal disagreements about where the band was heading. Donisan will continue his hell harp attack in Slaughter Thou, while Doomsayer and Hellaeon are continuing the arising of the beast that is Darklord. The pair are also reforming forgotten band Beyond Mortal Dreams, but the style will be more in the direction of current extreme metal genres. This new entity is looking to record in Feb/March.

Featuring Scott Vogel (Buried Alive) on vocals and Todd Jones (Carry On) on guitar, California's Terror have become one of the most talked about bands in the international hardcore scene. To support their 9-track EP 'Lowest of the Low', Terror will be hitting our shores this November for their first tour of Australia. Accompanied by local band Day of Contempt for the entire national tour, Terror will play Adelaide on Fri 28 Nov at Enigma.

Nuclear Blast is proud to announce that legendary Bay Area thrashers Death Angel and German power metal gods Edguy have both signed long-term contracts with the label. The recently reunited Death Angel are currently working on new material for their fourth studio album, scheduled for released in mid-2004, while Edguy are hard at work on their next opus 'Hellfire Club', featuring orchestration by the Babelsberger Filmorchestra.

Soilwork will be releasing an EP of rarities next month through their original label Listenable Records. Original vocalist Peter Dolving has re-joined The Haunted following the departure of Marco Aro. According to guitarist Patrik Jensen, "If he has done anything to his voice between the time he left the band and now, it's learn how to sing even better. I have total confidence in Peter's ability to take the band to the next level." The Haunted, who have fulfilled their contractual obligations to Earache Records with the release of this year's 'One Kill Wonder', hope to sign a new record deal during the coming months. The band's new studio album is not expected to surface until the latter part of 2004.

Dark Funeral have announced plans for a live album comprised of tracks recorded during their recent South American tour. At the moment, one 15-track album is planned, but if all goes well, a second album will be released shortly afterwards. Tracks include The Arrival Of Satan's Empire, The Secrets Of The Black Arts and Armageddon Finally Comes. The band are also in the early stages of writing material for their next album.

A Perfect Circle have pulled out of the Big Day Out. According to the official statement issued by the organisers, "after previously confirming their appearance in writing, the representatives of A Perfect Circle have now advised us that for reasons too complex for us to explain, the act will not be performing at the 2004 series of Big Day Out festivals. We are still hoping to convince them to stay on the show but we felt it necessary to bring this to the attention of all concerned before tickets go on sale."
