If I asked you what Adelaide's biggest and best rave was what would you say? Enchanted, right? Well what if I asked you what Adelaide's second biggest and best rave was? Without a doubt it would be Stardust. And in terms of quality of the acts it's up there with Enchanted or anything else around. The date is Sat 5 Oct and everything is falling into place nicely with the lineup including Roni Size and Tali, James Holden, Kevin Saunderson, BK and Steve Gerrard.

And here's some gossip. Look who may be in Adelaide for a pre-NYE bash to equal anything else you might get in Australia on NYE: Paul Van Dyk, Stanton Warriors and Krafty Kuts. If it happens, it will be on the Saturday before New Years.

In some of the most exciting hip hop news for years A Tribe Called Quest are reforming. This isn't just gossip but officially announced, bless-their-cotton-socks, news! Work on their new album will begin when they head into the studio in July. It seems like much of their desire to reunite was due to the death of Jam Master Jay. Tribe member Phife said in a recent interview in Allhiphop.com "We just wanted to be Run-DMC. Me and Q-Tip grew up around the corner from them. Those were our heroes."

In less exciting news for hip hop fans, Wu Tang have postponed their tour until possibly September or October. boys had to postpone their Asian gigs due to the SARS outbreak, and now that all's quiet on the eastern front their Australian gigs are going to get bumped so their Asian gigs can be rescheduled.

Love is in the air and it comes with a surgeon general's warning 'may be hazardous to your health'. Well perhaps not love but there's definitely chemistry: Dr Damage is joining the Chemistry team of Kontrol, Jayse, Josh, Odyssey, Mr S, Noddy and MC's Tim and NRG on Thurs 26 June when System 6 take over the main arena of Heaven for a new series of parties.

Bass Station is one of Melbourne's most successful hard dance nights and probably the closest Australia has to an underground 'superclub'. The hibernating giant of the Adelaide promotion scene, Total Kaos Productions, has been responsible for bringing Adelaide Ministry Hard NRG 2001 and 2002, The Ministry Annual Tour, Perfecto, Sublime, Vague and much more. Now they've united with Sounds of Now to bring Bass Station 2003 to Adelaide on Sat 21 June at Traffic with Bass Station residents DJs Jewelz and Jason Midro.

As mentioned a few weeks ago, Earthcore celebrates its tenth anniversary in November. To celebrate they're holding a competition which goes as follows. You gotta name all fourteen international acts that will be playing at Earthcore and get your prediction in by within the next week. Send to admin@earthcore.com.au. And the prize you ask? It puts you in the running to win an Earthcore life membership. And a reminder, any potential performers, DJs, VJs or volunteers should send info to PO Box 1318 Collingwood 3066. Giddyup!

{\b\f12 Bexta filled Black Cat White Cat last time she made an appearance (not looking particularly likely to be repeated since BCWC is now a highly successful R&B club on Saturdays). But if you want to pretend she's in your loungeroom you can close your eyes and put her new 'Mixology' CD in the stereo. Darling to the hard trance masses, this is number 5 in the series - and you never know, she might even be back soon...

"The idea of making 12 breakbeat tunes and calling it an album was about as appealing to be as a hard kick in the nads" Who said that? Breaks supremo himself Adam Freeland, whose long awaited debut album will be out soon. The album, which has had major input from Melbourne's Infusion, will be released on August 4, and Freeland will be playing an all breaks set in Adelaide on Fri 18 July.

Turntablists, start your engines! It's time to invest in backward caps or maybe just do the budget version and turn your caps backwards (or is that not cool any more?) 'cos the state heats of the 2003 Technics/DMC World DJ Championships are almost upon us. Ok, this is only the first step in the long road to turntablist glory that culminates in a trip to the UK for the World Final, but as the song says 'It's a long way to the top if you wanna scra-ra-ratch.' The state heats will be happening during July and early August. Each entrant performs a six-minute routine of tracks 'n tricks with the judges emphasis on skill and originality. Dates and venues will be announced soon, but last years comp had to be moved to St Pauls because of the demand for tickets. Entry form will be available online at www.dmcrecords.com.au along with updates and breaking news. Live acts confirmed for the various state heats include our own Hilltop Hoods, who are set to follow Koolism as this years local hip hop act to blow up nationally with aweseome live shox all around the country and an album in September,
